Welcome to Primitive Church

We are joyful you’re considering joining us. At Primitive Christian Church, located in the heart of Lower Manhattan, we are passionate about modeling the spirit and practices of the early church described in the book of Acts. The word ‘primitive’ signifies ‘original,’ reflecting our commitment to the foundational teachings and lifestyle of the very first Christians. We strive to base all our beliefs and actions on explicit passages of the Bible.

For over 70 years, we have served our community in the Lower East Side, witnessing God’s faithfulness and sharing His timeless Word with generations. Our ministry extends far beyond physical walls, aiming to be a church without boundaries, serving our city holistically.

We intentionally create room for the Holy Spirit to move, allowing for prayer for each other, and we regularly see miracles take place as God works among us.

We value authentic connection. There will be opportunities to pray for one another and experience the love and support of our church family.

What to Wear

Come as you are! You’ll see a range of attire, from casual to more formal. We care more about your presence than your presentation.

How to Find Us

We’re located on 207-209 East Broadway, between Clinton and Jefferson Streets. The closest subway station is the East Broadway station. Our church is also accessible via M9, M22, and M15 buses. As it is situated in Lower Manhattan, parking is scarce, especially on Sundays.
